FOUNDING
'T OUDE WANDELPARK
In 1927 a building permit was applied for to build a hotel-cafe-restaurant that was called "Het Wandelpark". At the end of the 20th century the building had the name "Listers". Since May 2010 the building is run by Karin and Harold van Asperdt and the building got the name 't Oude Wandelpark.

CULTURE-HISTORICALLY VALUABLE
The building is culturally and historically valuable because of its authenticity. The original hotel-cafe-restaurant from around 1928 has remained almost entirely intact. Although an expansion has been realised at the rear in the second half of the 20th century, it is not disturbing.
The hood has a special construction with two cutting L-shaped mansard roofs and original red Tuile-du-Nord roof tiles.
In 1927, NV Philips Grondmaatschappij (landcompany) bought more than 150 ha. forest and heath land of the municipality of Valkenswaard. Approx. 100 ha was used for the construction of a golf course. The remaining land mostly received the destination of 'public park'. Philips would take care of the construction and for the perpetual maintenance. On June 8 1930 the 'Philips - the Jongh Natuurpark' was officially opened.

With the acquisition in 2010 and name change, we returned the 'Oude Wandelpark" to the residents of Valkenswaard. We have gone back to the basics: relaxed eating and drinking. The playground is extensive and there is a 'Knight's Hall' for parties, meetings and dinners. You just have to relax and enjoy.
You will lack nothing. 't Oude Wandelpark is suitable for visits with children or dogs and is also motor-friendly. Because of the beautiful surroundings, this location is also a nice place for hikers to enjoy a cup of coffee and a delicious piece of apple pie.
